Where did you get the threaded rod to replace this cable set up?

I purchased the threaded rod through Princess auto. Any hardware store should have or be able to get this. I would recommend going with a course (Faster advancing) thread like an ACME thread. Any Fastener supply store can get this for you.

I will try to do a close up view in the 3D model to show how this was connected. I used a very inexpensive way to do this without using bearings. I basically welded a large nut to the “Head of the mill” and on the upper rail of the carriage I drilled a hole for the threaded rod to go through, then put a washer on and welded a sprocket to the top of the threaded rod. I greased the washer to help reduce the friction and wear. (This could be replaced with a bearing) I will do a close up view of this and post it.
